Expensology Privacy Policy
Information We Collect and How We Use It
At a minimum, Expensology needs a valid email address to interact with you. We need a name to call you as well, but you can make that up if you wish. Your privacy is important to us. WE WILL NEVER GIVE OR SELL YOUR EMAIL OR OTHER CONTACT INFO TO ANYONE.
The expenses, bills and other data you enter on Expensology are tied to an account and can only be viewed by you and anyone you add to that account.
Expensology Security
When you log into Expensology.com, you are doing so over a secure connection. This means that your username and password are encrypted before they are passed to our server. Once you are logged in however, you will be using an unsecure connection. This is because we cannot place the Google Ads on an encrypted page. We need the little bit of revenue generated from those ads to pay for the secure connection that handles the login. Nevertheless, other than username and password, the data you send us is fairly anonymous. We do not collect any banking info -- no account numbers, no routing numbers, no credit card information. We do not ask you for anything more personal than an email address.
If communicating over an unsecure connection with Expensology makes you nervous, please do not register. Feel free to let us know that this is why you are not signing up. If there is a demand for it, we will set up a secure connection.
When you log in to Expensology, your account information is stored in a Session. That Session is stored on the server in a secure manner and a Cookie is placed on your machine to help your browser find that Session.
Passwords on Expensology are combined with a constant salt and then encrypted one-way. This means that it is near impossible to decrypt. No one inside or outside Expensology will know what your password is.
Email Opt Out
You can opt out of all emails from Expensology by entering your email address on our Opt Out Form. We will need to send you one last email with a link to confirm you are the owner of the email address you entered. But then we will never bother you again.
Alternatively, you can simply email support@expensology.com and we will opt you out manually. One final confirmation will then be sent to you.
Contact Us With Questions
If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please contact us through this form, or simply send us an email at support@expensology.com.
